About
Practical PM Journal supports the sharing of project experiences. Every project manager knows that projects don’t always flow through the processes exactly as planned. Practical PM Journal features examples of the successes and problems others have experienced in the real world.
We have created a community where a wide range of people come together to share the knowledge and “lessons learned”. Everyone is able to teach someone else and our members are keen to learn how to do things better and avoid mistakes than can be extremely costly.
Project managers will particularly benefit from Practical PM Journal, but it is intended to be of use to many others in business such as project sponsors, technologists, authors and project staff.
Project Management Professional (PMP)®, credential holders should note that Practical PM Journal is a qualified publication for Professional Development Units, (PDU), credit in the “Giving back to the profession” division. Members who submit articles for publication can receive credits for each hour of effort. These PDU credits are of use during the credential renewal process. For more information, refer to the PMP Handbook at www.PMI.org.
CISSP certification holders may also find value with the journal. Similar to project managers, security specialists must continually upgrade their knowledge and prove competence. This can be done, in part, through learning and writing about security topics. Since many projects contain security components, articles describing security implementation, tips and experiences are valid for inclusion in the Practical PM Journal. CISSP renewal credits may be earned by qualified specialists for their submitted content.
